Friday’s Sky 4.9.26: Moon, Uranus & the Push for Practical Growth
A Restless Start to Friday
As we begin Friday, the first thing I notice is that the Moon is out of bounds. What that means is that it's outside the ecliptic plane. It is also conjunct Uranus, which speeds up the mood quite a bit.
The collective mood is more impulsive and erratic, especially so being in Gemini, which is curious and changeable as well. There is a strong tendency to go against the social norms or trends, and it's in a harmonious aspect to Pluto as well.
Pluto doesn't blindly say yes either — it probes. So we start Friday with a questioning mind, which may add some unexpected challenges.
If you're anything like me, I've had a bit of a crazy morning losing my phone and had some sudden and unexpected things that came up. All of a sudden, I had too much on my plate and I had to let some things go and focus on priorities.
I did find my phone, by the way — it was under a blanket. 😄
Jupiter & Saturn — Practical Expansion
There is another aspect here that is long-standing.
Jupiter and the planet Saturn are working in harmony in a trine.
Saturn itself is retrograde, so it's asking us to go over things to make sure everything lines up and may put up some resistance to the expansion principle of Jupiter if something needs our attention.
It helps to make sure you've got your foundations right and everything is set correctly for that expansion to take place unencumbered. The two work together and equate to practical expansion.
There's great efficiency with these two planets. One is expanding, one is contracting — great for business too, because you don't want to expand unless you have your foundations right in the first place.
Aries is the energy of Saturn and Leo is the energy of Jupiter.
Jupiter wants to shine in Leo, but with Saturn in Aries, it's leading and works best when roadblocks are out of the way. We must remember this energy is supporting the clear direction of Aries energy, and a block may be the best thing that happened to fix the broken wheel.
Saturn will check that everything is in alignment with the direction you want to go.
It's great if you've got some business ideas and some plans that you're implementing to have these two planets working together. It is a tight aspect — both are at 12 and 13 degrees in fire.
Utilize their energy and get some things done in flow, which may well last with Saturn's influence. 🔥
Mars & Saturn — Patience and Effort
Mars is another planet I like to look at for direction, as it's the planet of action. It's at 15 degrees of Cancer.
Cancer energy wants to protect, it wants to take care of its home and anything that gives it that sense of safety and security.
So there's security awareness, and it is square to Saturn at the moment. So that can cause delays as well.
These energies require patience, and as we noticed, there's very little patience coming from the Moon and Uranus as we start Friday.
But what happens in astrology is that we're looking at a moving landscape of planetary influences.
So we start Friday off a little bit erratic, running late, a frantic kind of energy, but the Moon will shift as it is the fastest moving planet.
Working Through the Blocks
The other thing of noteworthiness is that with Mars and Saturn in square like that, it is very hard-working.
I would expect that there's something that we've got to apply effort and energy to. It's not going to happen without applying effort.
If it is important, you will move through the blocks. If it isn't, it will fall away. Saturn removes unessentials.
I always look at how I feel when I'm doing something.
If it gives me energy, it's probably the right thing to be doing. If it gives a lot of energy or a lot of resistance, it's worth looking at what the resistance is all about — there is something to learn.
It's not about giving up just because you have to work harder!
And the theme overall this weekend is that there is effort required.
Looking at the Past
What happens a little later on Saturday is that the Moon will be in square to Mercury.
When the Moon is in square to Mercury, there is actually something from the past — the Moon holds our collective memory — to look at and face.
It can bring up a challenge because the square aspect always represents a little more effort is required to bring those energies into harmony.
Once again, work is required.
And remember, the Moon rules Cancer.
So, a great weekend to sense into what you're feeling. If it's bringing up some emotion, it can help you in terms of clearing something that needs to be resolved. 🌙
Saturn & Neptune Retrograde
Saturn is retrograde and Neptune is retrograde.
So that simply means that they appear to be moving backwards. They're not actually moving backwards, but they are asking you to look over something that you aspire to in a way that is practical and grounded.
There is a past quality to pay attention to and, in Gemini, go into it with curiosity, to learn something about the situation you find yourself in.
What do I need to know here? What do I need to know that will help me to move forward?
Don't be afraid of it if it's hard.
Sometimes hard means there is great reward.
Certainly, when you have these squares between Mars and Saturn, there is work to do to get through the restriction.
The Sun is going to come up to oppose Saturn soon, so there's further confirmation of the effort required to up-level and get clear.
Quite fortunately, Jupiter and Saturn are working well together, so if you can front up, there can be expansion by keeping your eyes on the goal.
Sunday — Home, Family & Connection ❤️
The other thing that is happening on the weekend, in the early hours of Sunday, is that the Moon will shift into Cancer.
Sunday is a great day for family, connecting to those people you like spending time with and feel emotionally connected to.
A Cancer Moon can be very, very caring.
It is conjunct the asteroid Ceres at the zero-degree ingress point, which widens the scope of caring to more social matters.
Are we all being treated fairly? Can we all feed and house ourselves? These are fundamental needs that Ceres is most concerned with.
It's a good day to break bread and have a meal with someone that you feel close to.
If you know someone needs help or a bit of support, Cancer energy is very attuned to other people's needs.
Mars in Cancer, as we've mentioned, is orientated towards protection and safety.
The Moon will, at a point on Sunday, conjunct Mars.
That adds a lot of competitive energy.
If you are doing some sport on Sunday, you can get a fire in your belly to win! Winning for the team — your family — and celebrating a great connection with the people that you're close to is what it's all about. 🔥
Pluto & Uranus — A Bigger Shift
That said, the longstanding transit that's supporting us all to evolve through this is Pluto and Uranus, still in trine.
It's been in this harmonious relationship for a lot of this year, and it provides a strong need within all of us to break free, to move past restrictions and to evolve through stretching ourselves past our limits into a trusting unknown future.
There may be some disturbance over the changes that have to be made, but any transformation usually provides a rite of passage we all have to walk through.
That completes Friday Sky for this week.
I hope you make great traction in whatever you are aiming for.
Much love,
